Stop the Germs from Spreading!

Date: 01-10-2017

Germs are the cause of infection and disease. It makes everyone sick and may cause death to those who are very vulnerable like babies, the elderly or those who are already sick. Below are some common ways to stop germs from spreading.

  • Stay at home when sick. If you are sick, don’t go to work or school anymore. You will likely infect more people if you do. Plus, if you stay at home, you will get your much needed rest so that you can recover faster.

  • Use a tissue when coughing or sneezing. If you are coughing and sneezing, make sure you have tissues handy with you. Then dispose them properly to the nearest rubbish bin. Sneeze or cough into your inner side of your elbow if you don’t have any tissue at hand.

  • Have a proper hand hygiene. A good hand hygiene will be your first line of defence against the germs. Know when and how to properly wash and sanitise your hands.

  • Have a good clean and hygiene system in place. Understand what needs to be cleaned and how often it needs cleaning. Know where the Highly Touch Objects are and make sure these get disinfected daily. Get the right chemicals and cleaning equipment so you can get the job done properly.

  • Educate! Have an open discussion with your staff about the importance of hygiene in your workplace. Have a procedure on what to do when someone is sick. Talk to your kid’s teacher and ask their process of preventing the spread of germs.
