Green Rhino recommended products during flu season and outbreak

Novel Coronavirus (CoV) is a new strain of coronavirus that has been circulating around the world at the moment. 2019-nCoV may cause a range of symptoms from the very mild one of colds, sore throat, cough and fever to a very severe symptom of Pneumonia. For those with a compromised immune system, it can also lead to death. Babies, older people and other vulnerable people must take extra precautions. People must practise good hygiene and ensure proper cleaning practice is in place.

Viruses like the 2019-nCov, influenza and other type of viral infections like pneumonia can easily spread to other people if we are not careful. What do we need to do to minimise the transfer of virus and bacteria?

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO PROTECT YOURSELF?

  1. Proper Hand Hygiene - Proper hand hygiene is very important and the simplest thing you can do to minimise the transfer of virus and bacteria from one person to another. Wash your hands with great soap and clean water as often as you could. Use a hand sanitiser if soap is not readily available. Use hand sanitiser if soap is not readily available and your hands are not visibly dirty.  Green Rhino has a great post about proper hand hygiene. Read it here for more information!
  2. Proper Way of Coughing and Sneezing - there are two ways to properly cough or sneeze as listed below. Always
    1. If you have a tissue - Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue and then throw your tissue in the rubbish bin.
    2. If you don't have a tissue - Cough or sneeze on your upper sleeve or on your inner elbow if you don't have a tissue.
    3. If you have a mask - Use the mask to prevent others from being sick.
    4. Wash your hands as often as you could.
  3. Avoid Touching Your Eyes, Ears and Mouth - your eyes, ears and mouth are the main gateways for a virus or bacteria to get into your system. Avoid rubbing your eyes, picking your nose and ears if your hands are not clean or may have touched a surface that is not clean.
  4. If You Are Sick - If you are sick, stay at home to avoid spreading the virus. Seek medical help as early as possible.
  5. Keep Your Distance - If you see someone is sick, politely keep your distance.
